Vtech and Office of Privacy Commissioner and Personal Data December 8, 2015gant_admin The Office of Privacy Commissioner and Personal Data (“PCPD”) are a typical government department who care nothing about the protection of personal data. They have a complaints handling procedure (“CHP”) which requires the owner of the personal data to file a complaint before they would entertain the investigation of any case; but the problem is 99.999% of the time the owner of personal data does not even know that their personal data had been sold or leaked. And when we filed a complaint to them regarding violation of personal data that we witnessed they say that we are eligible to make a filing. So given their CHP, why are they investigating the leak of personal data of Vtech when none of the victims actually have any proof that their personal data was leaked? They are doing it entirely out of political motivations and are not following their Complaints Handling Procedure.
